Proper scalp preparation is the key to getting the most out of your bond. Failing to properly clean and prepare your scalp before attaching your hair system will significantly decrease the length of time your system will stay secure.

Proper Scalp Preparation Instructions

Proper scalp preparation is the key to getting the most out of your bond. Failing to properly clean and prepare your scalp before attaching your hair system will significantly decrease the length of time your system will stay secure.

Proper Scalp Preparation Instructions

Does your hair system bond break down earlier than you'd like? No matter how strong your hairpiece tape or glue is, it won't stay strong or last as long as it could if you cleaned and properly prepared your scalp first.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Step 1: Removing Glue Residue

Begin by wiping all visible traces of hairpiece Glue residue from your scalp with a wet towel or cloth. Using a paper towel and glue remover rub vigorously until your scalp is clear of any residue.

Quick Tip: For best results, spray a liberal amount of Super Citrus Glue Remover on your scalp then wipe off with a towel. This will help the soap to wash the oil-based adhesive remover away.

Step 2: Wash Your Entire Head

Next, hop into the shower and wash your entire head, hair and scalp thoroughly at least two times.

While showering, thoroughly scrub your scalp and hair with exfoliating scalp scrub (we recommend using an exfoliating glove, too). Rinse and repeat 4-5 times. This will help ensure any trace of hairpiece glue residue is completely eliminated.

Step 3: Dry Your Head

After showering, be sure to fully dry your head and scalp with a towel and/or blow dryer, removing all excess moisture.

This would also be a good time to remove or shave any hair or stubble from the bonding area.

Step 4: Applying Super Scalp Protector

Last, we highly recommend applying a layer of waterproof sealant, such as our Super Scalp Protector, to your skin. This will help protect your skin as well as encourage adhesion with the toupee tape or glue. (Allow the Super Scalp Protector to completely dry before attaching your hair system.)

After you have completed the scalp preparation, and only after, you will then be ready to attach your hair system! Get tips on how to attach your hair system for daily and extended wear...

Front Lace Wig Attachment Instructions.

Supplied Needed: SUPER SCALP PROTECTOR, SUPER LACE GLUE

You can attach your lace wig using either a liquid glue or a tape adhesive. You can achieve a secure hold using either method...which option you use is simply a matter of personal preference. You will be attaching the lace front unit to your skin right below your hairline and regardless of what you use, you need to make sure that this area is clean, free of oils and hairless, or you will not achieve a good hold.

Step 1: Prep your hairline.

First, cut the lace back about half an inch away from the hairline. Be careful not to cut too close to the hair. Place the wig on your head. Position the lace wig hairline in front of your own actual hairline so you don't have to worry about the glue touching your hair.

Step 2: Clean your hairline.

Clean your face close to the hairline ensuring that you get all areas around the perimeter. Spray Super Scalp Protector around the perimeter of your head right below your hairline. The Super Scalp Protector protects your skin as it creates a barrier between your skin and glue. It also helps to keep skin oils at bay. (An oily skin weakens the bond and prevents the strongest hold). Allow the scalp protector to dry completely before applying the adhesive.

Step 3: Glue Application.

Super Lace Glue Directions: Use the liquid glue very sparingly. A little goes a long way. Depending on which adhesive you choose to use, it may come with an application brush. If not, use an eye shadow brush to apply the glue. Apply a thin coat of adhesive around, use a cool blow dryer for about 5-15 min until it becomes sticky. For a stronger hold, you can put 1-2 more thin coats of adhesive. Make sure you dry the coats in between.

It is very important to make sure the glue is sticky before you apply your lace wig. Starting with the front hairline, presses the lace wig unit and glued area together and apply constant pressure until the unit stays by itself. This may take 1 minute or longer, but be patient. Repeat the steps for the nape and sides. Before you style, please wait 15 min to allow the glue to adhere and completely dry.

Lace Front Wig Removal Instructions.

Supplies Needed: Super Lace Releaser, Super Citrus Glue Remover, Rubbing Alcohol.

Spray the lace release generously on the lace where it is attached to your skin. Wait a few minutes to allow the lace release to work. Do not tug or pull on the lace as this can damage the lace as well as your hair. Once the lace is removed, spray some Super Citrus Glue Remover lightly to remove excess residue on your scalp. Just remember to never pull the lace or attempt to force it off. Once the remover has set, you should be able to roll the excess glue off of your skin and wig.

How to wash a Lace Front Wig.

In order to properly care for your unit, you must shampoo and condition it while it is on a mannequin.  Learning how to properly care for your wig will allow you to enjoy the unit much longer. Avoid washing your lace wig while it's still attached on your head.
